Teen Stock Prodigy Truth Jones Nets $18k in 72hrs on his Juneteenth Mission

On June 17, 2020, the 13-year-old set out to empower 200 people with his firsthand knowledge of investing in stocks and earn $100,000 in 72 hours. The event would culminate with a jampacked session on June 19, in honor of Juneteenth which celebrates U.S. Emancipation Day.
However, as he tried to post ads for his courses, he continuously got rejected, especially on Facebook. That’s when he singlehandedly began a grassroots marketing plan by word of mouth and emails to recruit people to take his class.
Even though only 36 people signed up for his course, Jones still hit $18,000.
“It was not even half but it was still something,” said Jones who teaches stock trading courses to children all the way up to adults with PhD’s. “My mother encourages me to never limit myself so I am proud I made an effort. I’m disappointed the ads were rejected but I’m grateful I didn’t give up and utilized the resources I had.”
Jones, a motivational speaker and founder of the Truth PlayMakers Awards Honoring Black Excellence in Youth, says he is focused on his mission to empower. Through his website www.thetruthjones.com and his Instagram handle @thetruth2024 he gives live lessons on potential stocks, and shows his receipts on his successes.
“I believe in owning not borrowing and giving people the tools they need to impact the community,’ said Jones. “We need to know these movements so that our people can be financially savvy and close the wealth gap.”
